Who needs Drop-in Playcare?
ABOUT THE OWNERS
Sarah Negangard is the creator of Village Playcare. She and her husband Kevin are both owners and have 2 young boys. Sarah is a certified Pre-K-Elementary teacher and taught for nearly 10 years before moving into education publishing. Sarah earned her Master’s with a specialization in cross cultural teaching.
Before teaching, she got her degree in Fine Arts- and is incorporating that love of arts into the program. Her inspiration for Village Playcare came from her own need, while living away from family in the suburbs of Chicago. She mostly worked from home, but had 1 or 2 appointments onsite each week. She needed a place that she could drop off her son, that was safe, fun and reliable- it simply didn’t exist! Babysitters would cancel- and it simply wasn’t reliable or flexible. She decided not to go back to work- but was determined to create a place where parents ( moms especially) could still feel like their “pre-mom” self, while working or having free time.
The inspiration behind Village Playcare is to be a support “Village,” in that it’s a place where your child will want to go- so that you can guilt-free take care of what you need or want to do.
Sarah and Kevin were both raised Hoosiers in the small town of Brookville. Kevin grew up as the son of two teachers- so learning and education has always been a natural part of his life.
The Negangards moved to Indianapolis shortly after their first son was born to be closer to family. They hope to help support parents and most importantly- inspire and engage kids! – Sarah & Kevin Negangard info@VillagePlaycare.com
